Democratization of Energy Supply and the Future of Fossil Fuels

Democratization of Energy Supply and the Future of Fossil Fuels

There are multiple ways to harness energy from diverse sources of renewable energy. There are an increasing number of homes that are filled with wires packing up in the roofs with full-fledge solar systems linked to solar panels. This freedom to generate energy from free sources such as the sun is reliving the dependency on utility bills.

In the era we live in, there is an addiction or euphoria to energy needs. Most people are very dependent on energy supply to provide energy to fuel refrigerators, lamps, television, computers and stereos.

It is remarkable how fluctuations in prices of fuels such as oil affect our daily life. The oil crisis in 1970s showed the degree that we are dependent on fuel. However, the fact that oil isn’t an infinite resource puts its lifeline in the march of potential termination. Similarities apply to natural gas, and coal that is still in an abundant state for now. Although these fossil fuels will still be available for a long period they are harmful for the nature, with a high emission of carbon dioxide.

Renewable energy is giving an ideal alternative. It is clean and free, apart from the cost of installation. Yet, most renewable sources of energy are not predictable, sun energy is affected by clouds and wind energy by the blows. The addiction to alternative sources of energy is a commodity not affordable to everyone, despite that technology has plunged the price.

Various experts consider that this obsession to energy is a fundamental aspect. It is more important than the wars on terrorism. Professor of Physics at New York University, Martin Hoffert, considers that energy is something that we are dependent on.

The idea of energy conservation brings endless reckoning. However, greater emphasis should be put on harnessing energy, as we cannot conserve what we do not have.

The dilemma related to energy collection is in the widespread equation of them available. Many considered that financial conspiracies are behind the lack of investment in renewable energy by governments. The issue is more complex, it is a balance score card, where only the most effective energy sources are opted for and not necessarily the wisest. Energy can be collated in space from sun, on earth and even beneath the core of the earth. This widespread opportunity rises concern about the ‘the best source’.

A simple example is the hydrogen-driven car. Hydrogen is present with oxygen and water. However, the cost to free hydrogen from water is until now a costly investment. The return is almost futile. It is hard to determine the energy source of the future. In the quest, there is nuclear, wind, biomass solar and hydrogen to mention a few that plays dominantly in the struggle to become the most used source of energy.

Going further, at the National bioenergy Center in Golden Colorado, director, Michael Pacheco says that using all sources of energy is required to meet the needs of tomorrow. The rise in demand for energy is enticingly augmenting year by year. A minimum of 22 bulbs can be considered to be lit by every person on the earth, during a day. This is just to give a figure of about the mass of energy required.

The answer to the infinite supply of fossil fuel and increasing prices are right out there. The sun and wind energy are free and estimated with an endless supply. People should huddle towards the solar addiction or other sources of renewable energy. The era of fossil fuel is to be left behind.
